Planbet’s app only launched in 2026, and parts of it still feel young. That is not necessarily a bad thing. The group behind it has experience, registration is clean, and the account setup makes sense. The weak spot is banking. For Ghana, Planbet is much stronger if you already use Neteller or crypto than if you want familiar local payment methods.
Signing up to Planbet in Ghana
There are three ways to open an account for Planbet’s app, and none of them involves much messing around.
- Email
Select Ghana, choose Ghanaian cedi (GHS) as your currency, enter your email and password, add a promo code if you have one and register.
- Phone
Enter your Ghanaian number with the +233 code, request the SMS, confirm the code and register. You can also add a promo code before finishing.
- Social login
Google, Telegram, X, Twitch, Apple, GitHub, Discord and LinkedIn are supported. Select Ghana and cedi as normal, then use your preferred account to continue.
For a Ghanaian bettor, phone registration is probably the most natural of the three. Planbet requires phone confirmation as part of its verification setup anyway, so you are not avoiding that step by registering through email or a social account. Whichever route you take, use your proper details. This is one of those boring five-minute jobs that can save a much less enjoyable conversation when you want your money out.
Planbet verification
KYC looks more intimidating in the full rules than it did in practice. We were verified within a few hours, although we came prepared with our ID and screenshots from our Neteller dashboard. That makes a difference. Scrambling around for documents after a request lands is how a simple check turns into an afternoon’s work.
Planbet can ask for:
- A passport, identity card, driving licence or other accepted photo ID
- Proof of address, such as a recent utility bill or account statement
- Confirmation of your phone number
- A selfie with your ID if further checks are needed
- Proof of funds or payment documents in some cases
- Evidence relating to the payment account used to fund Planbet
Your ID details need to match the information on the betting account. Planbet can also ask more questions if you deposit one way and try to withdraw another.
Deposits and withdrawals on the App
Here is where Planbet loses some points with Ghanaian players.

132 cedis just to get started is quite harsh. Having the same minimum on withdrawals is worse. A small-stakes bettor cannot simply throw in a tiny amount, have a look around and decide whether Planbet suits them. Small remaining balances can also become awkward when it comes time to cash out.
Neteller was our pick. We already use it, so there was very little to learn and our verification documents were ready beforehand. For that type of player, the platform’s banking is perfectly workable.
A more locally focused Ghanaian bettor may have a completely different reaction. There is a big difference between supporting cedi accounts and being properly set up for the way local players actually move money. Right now, the payment selection is heavily tilted toward Neteller and crypto.
That is the part Planbet’s app needs to fix as it grows. The account opening is quick, verification was painless for us when we came prepared, and the basics feel like they were designed by people who know betting. But if Neteller and crypto are not already part of your routine, the cashier is likely to be the bit that sends you looking elsewhere.
